Position Summary:

The Pathway Specialist serves as a program representative and resource for assigned pathways at Spokane Falls Community College. The position coordinates pathway operations, supports student enrollment and retention, analyzes student progress, and collaborates with faculty and Student Affairs to provide comprehensive student support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide information and technical assistance to Pathway students and faculty and promote programs to prospective students.

  • Represent assigned Pathways at meetings, conferences, and presentations.

  • Collaborate with Guided Pathways, instructional deans, Student Affairs, and EDI leadership.

  • Analyze student performance and progression data and coordinate interventions supporting retention and success.

  • Assist students and faculty with persistence efforts and student services.

  • Support admissions, recruitment, registration, orientations, advising, outreach campaigns, and retention activities.

  • Monitor Pathway activities, goals, program reviews, and Guided Pathways action plans.

  • Prepare educational and promotional materials.

  • Track student progress and support interventions toward educational goals.

  • Cross-train with Student Affairs and Instruction departments.

  • Support equitable and inclusive Guided Pathways initiatives.

  • May supervise lower-level staff and work-study students.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with diverse students, faculty, staff, and administrators.

  • Ability to learn degree, certificate, admission, and registration processes.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, plus Zoom and Teams.

  • Ability to track student progress and work with data reports.

  • Ability to travel and work evenings/weekends as required.

  • Ability to foster equity and belonging through multicultural awareness and responsiveness.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher.

  • Experience with student management or CRM systems such as PeopleSoft or Banner.

  • FERPA knowledge.

  • Knowledge of Business pathways, CTE programs, and BAS degrees.

  • Knowledge of Spokane Colleges or Washington State policies and procedures.
