Position Summary:
Reporting to the Chancellor, the President serves as chief executive officer of Spokane Falls Community College, providing strategic, student-centered leadership for college operations, academic and student affairs, personnel, finances, and institutional effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead institutional strategy, planning, accreditation, assessment, and continuous improvement.
Advance student access, retention, completion, transfer, workforce preparation, and academic excellence.
Oversee academic affairs, student affairs, enrollment management, guided pathways, and workforce education.
Lead and evaluate the college leadership team and ensure effective operations and personnel practices.
Manage operating and capital budgets, financial resources, internal controls, and long-term sustainability.
Maintain productive relationships with employees, unions, and collective bargaining representatives.
Develop external resources through grants, partnerships, philanthropy, and other opportunities.
Represent SFCC with employers, K-12 districts, transfer institutions, Tribal nations, community organizations, elected officials, and other partners.
Advise the Chancellor and participate in district-wide leadership and Board activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in education, organizational leadership, administration, public administration, business, or related field.
At least five years of progressively responsible senior-level administrative experience in higher education or a closely related educational setting.
Experience in academic and/or student affairs leadership, institutional planning, fiscal management, personnel administration, and collaborative leadership.
Knowledge of labor relations, collective bargaining, and personnel practices.
Demonstrated commitment to community college education, student success, accessibility, and inclusive excellence.
Strong communication and consensus-building abilities.
Desired Qualifications:
Doctorate or other terminal degree.
Eight to ten years of progressively responsible senior leadership experience, including president, vice president, provost, or comparable executive experience.
Community college leadership experience and familiarity with Washington State higher education.
Experience with enrollment growth, strategic planning, accreditation, program development, and student-success initiatives.
Experience with collective bargaining, legislative advocacy, workforce/K-12 partnerships, and resource development.
