Salary Range: $4,320 - $5,812 monthly
Position Type: Full-Time, Non-permanent (up to 18 months)
Position Overview
Spokane Colleges Head Start/Early Head Start seeks an Early Head Start Home Visitor to provide educational services and family support through weekly home visits and group socializations for infants, toddlers, and their families. The Home Visitor partners with parents to promote child development, family engagement, health, nutrition, and school readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct weekly 90-minute home visits and provide educational support to families.
- Partner with parents to assess child development and establish individualized learning goals.
- Promote positive parent-child interactions and family engagement.
- Plan and facilitate parent-child socialization activities.
- Conduct developmental and health screenings and support families in obtaining needed services.
- Coordinate family goal planning and connect families with community resources.
- Maintain confidential records and electronic documentation.
- Recruit, enroll, and support eligible families.
- Collaborate with community agencies and participate in outreach activities.
- Assist families in crisis and provide referrals as needed.
- Attend required meetings, trainings, and professional development activities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Human Development, or a closely related field.
- Knowledge of child development, early childhood education, family engagement, and health and safety practices.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and utilize computer software systems.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with families, community partners, and staff.
- Ability to obtain required training and certifications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two or more years of experience working with infants, toddlers, pregnant mothers, and families.
- Experience working with low-income and culturally diverse families.
- Experience providing home-based services.
- Knowledge of ChildPlus database.
- Experience working with adult learners.
Employment Information
- Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Overtime eligible.
- Local and regional travel required.
