Role Summary

The Associate Transportation Planner I/II is a key member of the planning team, responsible for analyzing transportation data, preparing reports, coordinating with stakeholders, and evaluating the region’s transportation system performance. This position collaborates with senior and mid-level planning staff, leadership, the Communications Coordinator, and external partners. Experience or education in land use planning is highly desirable.


Core Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyze, interpret, and visualize transportation and land use data.

  • Research best practices and communicate findings through reports, visuals, and presentations.

  • Collaborate with member agencies, committees, stakeholders, and the public.

  • Work independently and as part of a team.

Key Focus Areas

  • Support development of the Horizon 2050 Metropolitan Transportation Plan.

  • Update the Human Services Transportation Plan.

  • Enhance public outreach and data management, including updates to the High Injury Network and travel demand model.

  • Integrate resiliency metrics into project evaluation and scoring.


Qualifications

Associate Planner I – Entry-level role requiring a relevant degree and/or limited experience.
Associate Planner II – Mid-level role requiring demonstrated experience in planning and project coordination.
